Lakenfeesten July 4-5-6

This weekend, Leiden celebrates summer with the annual Lakenfeesten: a vibrant city festival full of music, culture, and fun.

Since 1985, the Lakenfeesten have been held in the last weekend of June. The name refers to the time when Leiden had a thriving cloth industry, although today’s festivities have little to do with that historical background. Watch the colorful “boats” during the Peurbakkentocht, enjoy a canal-side concert, or relive old times at the nostalgic fairground.
