Celebrate the Leiden Liberation with us!<\/strong><\/p>\n

On October 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, we will be serving our homemade hutspot to mark the 450th anniversary of the Leiden Liberation.<\/p>\n

Leiden was liberated in 1574 after a long siege by the Spanish. The city was saved when the watergeuzen broke through and brought herring and white bread for the starving inhabitants.<\/p>\n

The Spanish left behind a pot of hutspot: a hearty stew made from potatoes, carrots, and onions<\/p>\n
